A Special Recognition
Most of us note the irony of how constant change is and sometimes forget to notice what doesn’t change all
the time Yet, here at St. Christopher’s there are only a few of us who remember more than one person who
has been the organist/choirmaster.
Dr. Jane Ann Wilson has served this parish for twenty seven years Yes, 27 She has served during the tenures
of Fr. Jim Haney, Fr. David Veal, Fr. Edson Way, Mtr. Jennifer Holder, Fr. Mike Bernard, and Mtr. Rachel
Whether you sing or not, you have probabl y participated in the sung responses led by Jane Ann in the services
She has prompted those responses and has made the selections of hymns and anthems appropriate to the
seasons and readings to enhance the scriptures read on any given Sunday or special e vent She has been part
of more than a thousand Sunday services (with few exceptions for vacations and personal needs) and she
patiently conducted that many choir rehearsals with love and PATIENCE She has played for ordinations,
diocesan conventions, we ddings, Joy Club pageants, and funerals as well.
And that’s not all Because of the respect and love she has earned from other musicians, our special services
like Christmas and Easter over the years have been enriched by numerous and extraordinary musicians She has
been generous and gracious in being a part of St. Christopher’s ministries serving on two St. Benedict teams
and a coffee hosts team Jane Ann has also been part of St. Claire’s Workshop making prayer shawls and hats
for the homeless, and she has made private donations to numerous causes.
She is a beautiful example of love and service to God and others, especially to this parish We will miss her so
very much, but we wish her a wonderful retirement in the company of her family in Colorado.
THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU HAVE GIVEN US!
Go in peace to love and serve the Lord, Dear Friend!
